Karen Page is the former office manager for Nelson and Murdock and, along with Foggy Nelson, Matt Murdock, and Ben Urich, was instrumental in the effort to bring Wilson Fisk to justice. While working for Nelson and Murdock, Page came into contact with Frank Castle, who she helped defend in court. When Nelson and Murdock fell apart, Page joined the New York Bulletin with the intention of writing Castle's true story; however, during her investigation, she was kidnapped by Ray Schoonover and saved by Castle. Later, the Hand also kidnapped Page and she was rescued by Daredevil before Murdock revealed to her that he was Daredevil.

As Nelson and Murdock was shut down, Page officially became a reporter at the New York Bulletin by Mitchell Ellison. When the Hand returned to New York, Page and Foggy Nelson were brought to the 29th Precinct Police Station for protection. However, to her horror, Page was informed that Murdock did not survive the final confrontation with the Hand. Later, Page was contacted by Castle who needed information about Micro and got involved into Lewis Wilson's terrorist campaign against Stan Ori.

Refusing to believe that Matt Murdock died, Page continued to investigate the incident, but to her horror, Wilson Fisk was released from Rikers Island by the FBI. Page started to search for information that could return Fisk behind the bars. Eventually, she was reunited with Murdock who joined forces with her, but she was targeted by Benjamin Poindexter. With Ray Nadeem's help, Page, Murdock, and Foggy Nelson managed to take down Fisk and return him to prison, although Nadeem was killed.

Nelson and Murdock decided to start a new law firm, together with Page, who became a lawyer. Nelson, Murdock & Page enjoyed several years of success, until Page and Nelson were attacked by Poindexter. Although Daredevil was able to defeat him, Nelson was fatally shot in his assault. Subsequently, Page and Murdock became estranged, and the firm was dissolved as Page moved to San Francisco. Over a year later, Page learned that Poindexter had escaped from prison and asked Castle to protect Murdock while she took a flight back to New York. The two would uncover the fact that Nelson's murder was ordered by Vanessa Fisk in order to prevent him from filing court documents that would expose their criminal empire. Page chose to remain in New York, now under martial law, in order to aid Murdock in taking the city back from the Fisks.
