Layla El-Faouly was the granddaughter of a famous scholar of Egyptology and she learned many things from him. When she grew up, she became a mercenary with wide connections in the criminal, smuggling, and counterfeiting sectors, leading her to often accept jobs as part of the Karnak Cowboys. At one point, she got romantically involved with her colleague Marc Spector, even though they would still bicker with one another while on missions.

On one mission, after an escape gone wrong, Layla lost her life, a loss that led Spector down a path that would eventually make him assume the mantle of Moon Knight.[3] Meanwhile, finding herself in the Duat (the Egyptian underworld), Layla witnessed her heart being weighed on the scales of justice, as custom demanded it. To the gods' amazement, the heart was a perfect balance, but the goddess Taweret believed Layla still had unfinished business and offered her a chance to preserve the balance as her blade. She accepted and was thus given the power of the Scarlet Scarab, becoming the guardian of the Duat

Steven Grant, who had no memory of Spector's trauma. While he was on a mission in Egypt, Spector was shot by his partner Raul Bushman, but he was saved by Khonshu, who transformed him into his Avatar and the vigilante Moon Knight. Soon after, he fell in love with and married Layla El-Faouly. Following his mother's death, the Grant alter resurfaced and relocated to London to become a museum worker, with Spector occasionally taking over the body to operate as Moon Knight.

Grant found himself in the middle of a conspiracy where a cult led by Arthur Harrow intended to release Ammit, so he teamed up with his wife and Spector to stop him. Whenever Grant summoned his suit, he took the form of Mr. Knight.

As the show comes to end, he tells Arthur Harrow/Ammit in Spanish, “Today is your turn to lose.” And bang, bang, bang. A chilling introduction into Marvel's world.

Jake is only in the post-credit scene and it doesn’t give us a lot to go on, but based on that scene and the two times that Marc and Steven lost control prior in the series, Jake is a pretty brutal person. In those two sequences when Marc and Steven lost control, we saw him murder 3 people in episode 3 and make a mess of the courtyard when he defeated Arthur Harrow in episode 6.
